About This Item
New York: Grosset & Dunlap Circa, 1929 ----------hardcover, no dust jacket. The frontispiece and all 3 additional plates, facing pages 98, 178 and 242 by St. John are present. The placing of the plates, and the fact that there are 28 Burroughs titles listed in the advertisements at the back of the book, and no other writers, indicates that this is the Grosset & Dunlap printing of 1929 or possibly 1930. The book, in red cloth with black lettering and design to the front boards and spine, has the free front endpaper missing, a tear down half the spine at the front board, back board is creased, front board is starting to separate, wear to the spine extremities, wear to edges and corners, front boards are water-stained, and the book is a poor to fair but still reasonably solid and complete copy.. .. Hard Cover. Poor to Fair/No Jacket. Illus. by J. Allen St. John (frontispiece + 3 plates). Note: our prices on Biblio are the LOWEST of any of the sites on which we list our books.
