Dejarnette was one of the pioneers of chiropractic medicine. The book is an early overview of numerous techniques and procedures that the Major incorporated in his work.
Condition of the book is Good. The binding is straight and sound. Inside pages are complete. Condition issues include:
1) A three inch tear to the board cloth at the base of the spine, see the third listing photo
2) Handwritten pencil notations on the front free endpaper, see the fourth listing photo. These notes were made by the book's original owner.
The book shows wear appropriate to a book of its age and prior use. In sum, an exceedingly rare work, in less than optimal condition, but historically significant in the Chiropractic field.

There is a wide piece of binding tape attached to the inside cover, front and back, which looks like it used to hold something. No dj. HC is soiled and worn alongs edges and corners. Edges are bumples. Paper on binding is split inside back cover. Interesting and rare book begins with a history of sanitation in battle from the 13th century and a letter from the Surgeon General's Office September 7, 1862 to the Secretary of War. Several pages have tears along the top edge and some pages have tiny creased corners. Contains PLATE MAPS.

Januar MDCCCXVI," indicating that, rather than being delivered in Dec. 1815, it was delivered on Jan. 3, 1816. Disbound from a collection of pamphlets owned by French homeopath Dr. Charles Ravel (1822-1887). The author, Johann Christian Friedrich Harless (1773-1853), was a German physician who served as a director of a clinical institute in Erlangen beginning in 1805 and in 1818 went to Bonn as a professor of pathology. Based on the natural philosophy of Schelling, he developed a theory of electropathology. In Very Good Condition: lacking stitching; title page slightly darkened along fore-edge; title page and p. 26 lightly soiled; otherwise, clean and bright. Scarce.
