Includes an installment of the novel ARCHIE LOVELL by Annie Edwards, a poem by Mortimer Collins called "The Two Alices," installments of LADY ADELAIDE'S OATH by Ellen Wood (author of the sensational Victorian novel EAST LYNNE), and a piece by Edmund Yates called "At the Play.

Edges rubbed and spine scuffed; a heavy scuff has exposed a bit of the cardboard at the top right corner of the back cover. Early owner's neat signature on front free endpaper. Pages lightly tanned and foxed with age, but otherwise, text clean and binding tight. Volume 14 of TEMPLE BAR, a monthly British literary magazine, with issues spanning April through June 1865. The title page is incorrect; it states that this is volume 13, but it is actually volume 14. Contains installments of DAVID CHANTREY by W.G. Wills, and installments of the "Streets of the World" series by Victorian journalist George Augustus Sala.
