Raiders from Mexico were ever-present, and lawlessness was the order of the day. Peace and order were restored by the Texas Rangers. Edited by Ben Procter. --- Includes a color map of South Texas, a frontis photographic portrait of a mounted Texas Ranger, and several additional illustrations and photos. With a listing of all works in the Lakeside Classics series at rear of volume. --- Number 90 in a series of annually published works continuously produced since 1903 by R. R. Donnelley & Sons, owners of the Lakeside Press. The books were not made available for sale by the publisher; rather, they were given as gifts to employees, vendors and customers at Christmastime. --- In full brown cloth-covered boards w/publisher's device on cover and titling on spine; all in gilt; top edge gilt. Lacks the glassine wrapper. --- A bright, clean, firm copy with a faint cover scratch & tiny soiled spot to front free endpaper, otherwise lacking apparent damages.; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; lxvii, 355 pages .
