About This Item

Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1947. Second Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Very Good in a Good jacket, unclipped ($10.00), generally toned, chipped at the edges and with a few small closed tears. Brown cloth, rubbed and bumped at the corners, with a red ink panel and gilt lettering on the spine. Square and firmly bound with a burgundy top stain, clean internally. Published three years after the first edition, this edition includes "an Appendix containing an axiomatic derivation of numerical utility." The design of the jacket seemingly changed for the second edition with the addition horizontal stripes running across the spine. This jacket lacks those lines and is presumably supplied from the 1944 first edition. Though not original to the book, it is potentially more desirable.
