A neat name and date (from the year of publication) to the top right hand corner of the front free end-paper otherwise a VG++ copy. In the VERY RARE D/W priced 15s net to the inside flap (as called for). The D/W is in VG (or better) condition and is slightly darkened to the spine, nicked to the extremities and with minor foxing to the back panel and the edges of both the front and rear flaps. This iconic book is exceedingly uncommon in first edition. At the time of listing I can find no examples of the first edition in D/W for sale on the www. Achebe's classic novel of colonisation in 19th century Nigeria. # 20 in Time Magazine's All-Time Best 100 English Language Novels from 1923 to 2005 where it is described as "the author's masterpiece" and often compared to the great Greek tragedies. This is the classic African novel about how colonialism impacted and undermined traditional African culture and is the most widely read book in modern African literature.
