A collectible copy warmly inscribed by the author on the front free end paper: "for [name] | and [name] with | all the fondness the | years have freighted | us with together | Jud 2/85." Jerome was a poet, author and literary critic who served as a professor at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. He was a poetry columnist for Writer's Digest magazine and authored three books on writing poetry. Size: 8"-9" - Octavo (8vo). 343 pages. Item Type: Book. Text block is tight, bright and unmarked. Hardbound in russet-colored cloth over boards with the title in bright gilt on the spine. Corners are sharp (though the top rear corner is slightly bent) and show minimal shelf wear at the tips. There is a little shelf wear at the head and foot of the spine. No foxing in this copy. Unclipped ($11.50) dust jacket shows wear along the edges, especially at the heads and feet of the folds. There is a 1/8" x 3/8" chip at the top of the rear panel at the fold with the spine and a 1" closed tear at the bottom outside corner of the rear panel.
