London: Eyre & Spottiswood, 1961. FIRST EDITION, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, 8vo, pp. 56. Original green cloth, spine lettered in gilt, cream dustjacket printed in green and black. Top edge sunned. Inscribed to the flyleaf ‘Ronald [?] with best wishes, Iain Crichton Smith’. Smith’s second English-language collection, following 1955’s ‘the Long River’ and ‘Bùrn is Aran’, in Gaelic, from 1960. This copy is inscribed in the poet’s spidery hand to the flyleaf.

We stock rare, antiquarian, and collectable books on all subjects, along with a substantial range of secondhand books for browsing. Our gallery space currently hosts Typewronger Books, offering new books and secondhand typewriters.
