London: Selwyn & Blount Ltd.. Good. 1924. Popular Edition. Hardcover. 274 p. 23 cm. Sound and square binding in paper-covered boards and buckram-backed spine. Paper edges are worn through and corners are softenend. Sunned to top edges of boards. Light soil to both boards. Leather title block has edge chips and is rubbed. Deckled text block edges are somewhat dusty. Previous owner's name on front pastedown endpaper. Both sets of endpapers are tanned. Offsetting of frontispiece illustration onto the title page. Heavy paper text pages are rippled, but clean and unmarked. The story of three monkeys, or Mulgars, who search for the Valley of Tishnar and the kingdom of their uncle Assasimmon, where they have a number of dangerous adventures. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and full page pen and ink drawings. This edition was limited to 250 copies signed and numbered by the author, but this copy has the author's signature only. It is not numbered in the area intended to be and may simply be an oversight. .
