About the author

An Eisner Award winner for his work on Inhumans, Paul Jenkins helped reveal Wolverine's untold history in Origin and introduced a "forgotten" hero of the Marvel Universe in Sentry. In addition to his comics work on such series as Spectacular Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk and Civil War: Front Line, he is a prolific writer of video games, including Radical Entertainment's Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Jenkins returned to DC Comics in 2011, writing New 52 titles Batman: The Dark Knight and Stormwatch.

Christos Gage sold his first screenplay in 1997 and has been working steadily ever since; he started writing comics in 2004 with DC's Deadshot miniseries, featuring the sharpshooting antihero from Suicide Squad. He then began co-writing Avengers: The Initiative with Dan Slott, which led to him becoming the sole writer on the book and its successor, Avengers Academy. His additional Marvel credits include Civil War: Casualties of War, House of M: Avengers, Iron Man, Union Jack and World War Hulk: X-Men, as well as a prominent run on X-Men: Legacy.

Andy Diggle is a British writer known for stints on such high-profile titles as Judge Dredd, Hellblazer and Swamp Thing, as well as being a former editor of 2000 AD. In addition to a mature re-imagining of The Losers for DC's Vertigo line, he has written the Punisher: Silent Night one-shot, Thunderbolts and Daredevil for Marvel. Diggle and artist Davide Gianfelice gave classic Marvel gunslingers a modern makeover in the pages of Six Guns.

Steve Lieber graduated from the Joe Kubert School and quickly made his mark on the comics scene, penciling a lengthy run on DC's Hawkman and frequently contributing to the Big Book Of... series. He is best known for illustrating Oni Press' Whiteout and Whiteout: Melt miniseries, the latter of which won an Eisner Award. After penciling several issues of Detective Comics and co-authoring The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creating a Graphic Novel, Lieber brought his stark style to Marvel's Civil War: Front Line and The Superior Foes of Spider-Man. He also illustrated Image Comics' Underground.

Brian Denham has made a name for himself on several projects of late. As part of a team of artists contributing to Nova, he made a big splash during the Annihilation: Conquest event. His recent work on Iron Man: Hypervelocity and Thunderbolts: Breaking Point showcased his ability to craft action/adventure layouts on the comic-book page.

British artist Ben Oliver has illustrated titles such as The Authority, The Losers and Tom Strong for DC Comics. For Marvel, Oliver's credits include Thunderbolts, Young X-Men and Ultimate X-Men.
