About This Item
New York: Vantage Press, 1956. First Edition, First Printing. . Near Fine/Very Good. Tillinghast's first book is this Western genre novel written on a bet after he'd complained about the western he was reading, saying if he couldn't do better than that, it was time to quit. Tillinghast's first effort features Steve Wilson, a gunfighter who finds himself in a small Colorado town and in the middle of a range war, all in response to a letter from a stranger; boards and text are clean, tight, square; dustjacket shows a half-inch, closed tear in lower corner of front panel, minor surface and edgewear. Scarce. Collectable.
