About the author

IVAN FEHRENBACH earned a degree in Literary Translation at Brown University. In addition to this book, he has completed an English translation of an unpublished memoir by an East Prussian farmer whom the Soviets took prisoner in 1945, shortly after he had been conscripted into the Volkssturm. Fehrenbach lives in Richmond, Virginia, where he is currently writing a novel.
