Volume is in fine condition with former owner's name neatly penned at top of free endpaper; unclipped dust jacket has light edge wear and otherwise fine.
A Time for Judas is a historiographic metafiction novel about a man in modern times who discovers tablets written by a scribe named Philo of Crete or Philo the Greek. Morley Callaghan (1903-1990) was a Canadian novelist, short story writer, playwright, and TV and radio personality. He was the recipient of the Order of Canada and the Governor's General Award. In a career spanning more than six decades, he published sixteen novels and more than one hundred works of short fiction. His literary circle included Hemingway, Fitzgerald, and Joyce.

Synopsis

A Time for Judas is a novel by Canadian author Morley Callaghan, published by Macmillan of Canada in 1983. It tells the story of a man in modern times who discovers tablets written by a scribe named Philo of Crete or Philo the Greek. In the story, these tablets are from the time of Jesus and are Philo's telling of Jesus' last days and the aftermath, including his resurrection. This modern-day man writes a novel based on these tablets. The bulk of the real novel is the fictional novel, i.e.
