Stated 1st edition. small 4to blue cloth covered boards, hardcover; as a companion to the Newbery Award winner, " The Matchlock Gun, " this is a book about a young NY boy who sails to Russia with a present for the Emperor; color frontis, 4 double page richly colored illustrations and numerous black and white ones; Edmonds tells us that this is a true story; a very good clean tight copy in a chipped and rubbed pictorial dust jacket.
