Red cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on spine. Lightly bumped spine ends. Text block edges just starting to tan. Signed and inscribed by author on half-title 'To Zena - Love & best wishes Brian Rix'. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has tape repaired tear to spine heel, very light shelf wear, chipping to top edges, mirrors book damage, price unclipped. 8vo. The author tells the history of touring theatres and strolling players from Thespis to Branagh, and recalls his own life spent in the theatres, dirty dressing rooms and boarding houses of many provincial towns.
