Henry Holt, 1875. Good in green cloth-covered boards with ornate letterng and design (leaves on a branch) stamped in gold to front and spine (still bright). The Holt Publishing Company owl with a book is stamped in gold to the left-hand corner of the front Edges and corners of boards and spine show wear. All page edges tipped in bright gold. The first page, beyond the front end paper, appears to be torn out. Otherwise, all pages present, clean and bright print and illustrations. The Dore illustrations appear on every page with many full-page. . Not stated as a first edition; the publication date on the title page is 1875. Small sticker remains to front end paper, the only page that shows any flaws other than the typical tanning toward edges of pages.. Hard Bound. Good. Illus. by Dore, Gustave.
