About This Item

Covers have some creasing and edgewear. Spine leans, binding still quite solid on this vintage mass market paperback. Red toned page edges, clean pages, minor soil to covers. Signet Key KD525. 50cent original cover price. "Jud Pitcher was alone in Track's End - the last stop on the railroad and one of the youngest towns in the Dakota Territory. One by one, the other settlers had left. Jud Pitcher was on his own in Track's End ... and he didn't think he'd survive the winter. Some days the thermometer reached as high as zero. Most days it stayed around 30 below. There was plenty of food left in the deserted town and $20,000 in the bank's vault. Plus enough guns and ammunition to keep off the hungry, snarling wolf packs. But there were Indians, too. A maverick tribe ready to do anything for food and supplies. Worse, there was the outlaw Pike and his murderous gang. They'd threatened to burn the town if they didn't get a $5,000 payoff. Track's End is one of the great adventure yards of danger and survival in the Old West. It's a book that brings the American pioneer spirit to thrilling life. Originally published in 1911. Signet Key paperback published in 1967, first printing of this edition.
