Green cloth binding, maroon endpapers, titles stamped in gilt on spine, top edge gilt, rough cut fore-edge, frontispiece portrait of General B.H. Bristow, 13 plates which include 2 maps, 353 pages. Originally published by Forest and Stream in 1897, scarce in both the American and U.K. printings. Chapters on the Labrador Peninsula, An African Shooting Trip, Wolves and Wolf Nature, On the Little Missouri, Bear Traits, a list of books on Big Game, Constitution of the Boone and Crockett Club with tipped in revision omitting the Wolf from the list of American large game and other interesting chapters. Some spotting to the covers, corners rubbed, short tears to cloth at head and tail of spine. Book now protected by a clear acetate dust jacket.
