In 1984, the author of this study was honored with publication of VERTEBRATE ECOLOGY AND SYSTEMATICS: A TRIBUTE TO HENRY S. FITCH, (University of Kansas, Natural History Museum) edited by Richard A. Seigel, et al. In 1998, the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists (ASIH) established the Henry S. Fitch Award to honor him for manifold contributions to the understanding of the systematics, ecology, natural history and conservation of amphibians and reptiles.
