About This Item

London: William Spooner, 1844. "Spooner's Pictorial Map of England and Wales Arranged as An Amusing And Instructive Game for Youth"." Illustrated with upwards of one hundred and twenty views. Novr. 5th 1844." Appears to be bound as a book but opens up as a 20" x 25" map of the counties of England and Wales with tiny pictures of notable places. In Cornwall the illustrations show the town of Liskeard, Botallack Mine and the port of Falmouth. These seem to be hand-coloured. Engraved illustration on front of folder showing soldier and sailor holding flags against background of river and seaside views. The covers are worn and soiled but still attractive... Fair/No Jacket. Map.
