Large paper limited edition containing material edited from articles Muir had written on his Alaska trips in 1879 & 1880 for the San Francisco Daily Evening Bulletin. Muir began working on the text in earnest in 1912, but his efforts to save the Hetch-Hetchy valley interrupted his work and final touches to the manuscript had to be completed after his death in 1914, primarily through the efforts of Mrs. Marion Parsons. Condition: Some rubbing to morocco lettering piece on spine, some soiling to spine cloth, light wear, else fine.
