About the author

John Irving is Professor of Music History and Performance Practice at the University of Bristol, UK. His main interest is in the instrumental music of Mozart, especially the piano and chamber music, on which he has already published three books. Irving is General Editor of a series of monographs on William Byrd, and editor of several volumes of the series Musica Britannica and Corpus of Early Keyboard Music.
