Some minor discoloration (sunning) to spine, rear cover. 20 cm. Clean, unmarked pages. xv, 283 pp. 6 plates, including 5 mounted calico fabric samples, one color plate of Lane's Net. The colorful fabric samples include: Diorama; Hoyle's Wave; Diorama, var. 1; Diorama, var. 2; Hoyle's Wave, var.1. Kress C.5670. Rare, primarily economic analysis of the textile industry. Provenance: Erastus Brigham Bigelow (1814-1879), was an American inventor and founder of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Bigelow has signed the title. He significantly invented the power carpet loom and received 50 patents, mostly connected with the textile arts.
