Little, Brown and Company, Boston, 1938. First Edition. Hardcover (in Slipcase). Near Fine Condition/Very Good. Illustrator: N.C. Wyeth. Book Signed by Author and Illustrator. This is a beautifully presented copy of the limited, double-signed Arundel Edition of the book kept in the original slipcase. The book and the separate packet of 14 plates of N. C. Wyeth's illustrations are, in turn, protected in a dark-green custom clamshell case by Asprey & Garrand. The case is covered in cloth with a morocco leather six compartment spine with the title, author, and edition information in bright gilt in three of the compartments. It is lined on the inside with matching dark green velvet. The limitation page notes this is copy 955 of of the 1,075 numbered copies and is signed by both Roberts and Wyeth. The plates are in the publisher's envelope, noting that they are "A Set of Illustrations painted by N. C. WYETH for 'Trending Into Maine' by KENNETH ROBERTS reproduced by offset lithography in four printings by The Tudor Press, Inc., Boston." Size: Small Quarto (9-11"). 394 pages. Item Type: Book. Text block is tight, bright and unmarked. The book is bound in an ivory cloth spine with the bright gilt title in a black rectangle and teal cloth over boards. It is in Near Fine condition with sharp corners and a slight bit of toning along the top and bottom edges of the covers. The original translucent paper dust cover is in Very Good+ condition with large chip at the head of the spine and toning at the spine and top edges.
