About This Item
Japan Mix Inc & Kinichi Tanaka, 1997. First Edition . Cloth. Fine/Fine. Quarto. Kinichi Tanaka. [no location]: Japan Mix Inc & Kinichi Tanaka, 1997. First Edition. Quarto, unpaginated, black cloth without imprint, photopictorial jacket. Fine book in fine jacket, jacket in protective mylar. Pristine; publisher's two inserts are present and laid in. Gleaming. Kinichi Tanaka's artfully executed collection of dozens of full-page black-and-white bondage shots of Japanese women of diverse looks and forms, all done in outdoor - often public- venues. Japanese bondage is itself an artform, as adherents know; but Tanaka's aesthetic vision herein combines that spirit with believably different women, generally beautiful but each always with a face, body, expression and pose (to the degree possible in bondage) which are particular to her unique personality, rather than to cloned models. Moreover, Tanaka's choice of setting and background is in every case itself striking, and adds to an almost disconcerting feeling of authenticity and originality. Extraordinarily well executed, in every respect. Scarce, particularly in Fine/Fine condition. L63
