Description

Tristan Strong Keeps Punching (Tristan Strong, Book #3) by Kwame Mbalia Tristan Strong is in New Orleans at a family reunion. He should be having the time of his life as the summer with his grandparents comes to an end. Soon he'll be back home with his mom and dad in Chicago. But Tristan is full of anger. He's angry that his friends from Alke are now scattered all over his world, lost and alone, and it's up to him to find them. He's angry that someone is stealing spirits and sending them up the Mississippi River on barges. And now, apparently, children are going missing, too, and no one seems to care. Worst of all, his archenemy King Cotton is on the loose. Tristan's so angry that he has been erupting in flames -- literally. Every time he clenches his fists, the burning akofena gloves appear next to him in midair, even without him touching his adinkra bracelet. In fact, all the magic bestowed upon him by the gods seems to be acting up. And he's seeing stories everywhere -- traumatic parts of history he was never taught in school. What's going on? Will Tristan be able to gather his friends and get ahold of himself in time to take down Cotton once and for all? Or is a burning rage just the power he needs?
