Description

The author's fourth novel, being the basis for the 1981 film of the same name that was directed by Ulu Grosbard; it starred Robert De Niro and Robert Duvall and was co-written with Joan Didion. L.A. murder mystery with corrupt homicide detectives and Catholic Church duplicity thrown in for good measure. Fine-looking, structurally sound hardcover, little discernible wear to the green cloth over boards, sharp and distinct gilt lettering to spine, bright interior, unmarked, though with a faint vertical crease to final free endpaper and previous owner's embossed stamp at title page. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, little worn, protected by a plastic coat. Stated First Edition, First Printing, with "1" in "number" line present. 341 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
