Copyright 1947, Curt Teich & Co. 18 coloured b&w views (including centrefold), colour pictorial wraps. A short history of the village of Hibbing, Minnesota, with information on the mining industry. Concludes with two pages by Mrs. C.A. Nickoloff - "The Legend of King Hematite". 2. Welcome - to the Minnesota Iron Ore Country - unpaginated (16 pages including covers), 5 1/2" H x 8 1/2" D. No date (c1950). Sepiatone photographs, green illustrations and decoration. Introduction by R.T. Elstad, President, Oliver Iron Mining Division, United States Steel Corporation. A map of the locations of Oliver's Observation Stands is followed by illustrated descriptions of what can be seen at each location. The final sections describe transporting the ore (by railroad & shipping across the Great Lakes), maintaining equipment, mining taconite ("Pilotac Mine"), and processing. Interiors - clean and tight with no previous ownership marks. Exteriors - light wear on spines, very light rubbing to covers of book 2. Envelope has one small edge tear, very small corner bumps, light browning to edges.. Stapled in Wraps. Very Good.
