Fading to paper label to top of spine. Comprises Whitman's original preface for Leaves of Grass (1855) and A Backward Glance O'er Travel'd Roads (1888). Introductory note by Christopher Fry. Previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown.Overall a lovely copy.
