Inscribed by the author on the front endpaper in the year of publication. Czech, p. 38: "A quite scarce book, this details the author's safari into Kenya accompanied by Philip Percival. Traveling by truck into the bush, they met Martin and Osa Johnson, then proceeded to bag a number of lions, as well as rhinoceros and cheetah. Continuing on, the party collected buffalo, roan, eland, sable, kudu, and other plains game." OCLC locates eight copies (New York Public, Yale, Smithsonian, Newberry, Northwestern, Illinois-Chicago, Duke, BYU). Endpapers browned from binder's glue, as usual, a good copy of a scarce book. Original parchment-backed gilt-stamped blue boards (corners and edges bumped, rare board with an old large circle stain). (#8432).
