New York: Macmillan Company, 1939. First Edition . Original Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. FIRST USA PRINTING OF FIRST EDITION. CONDITION: the book has 15mm repaired tear at top of spine, otherwise, there is some minor rubbing (= fading) at spine corners, previous owner mountain bookplate on front pastedown, no other previous owner marks or writing on any pages, binding is tight and solid, some foxing on end pages but almost NO foxing elsewhere, pages clean and bright. Book measures 237mm tall x 152mm, and had 238 pages, 76 b/w & 2 colour photos, 3 sketches, 3 fldg maps, glossary, biblio.
