New York: Robert M. McBride & Co., 1931. For those interested in California life in the early part of the 20th Century, this fascinating fourth edition is an eye-opener to a state that has been so built up over the past century that it is unrecognizable. The book is in Very Good condition. It is bound in a blue cloth with gilt spine titles. The gilt is rubbed but easily readable. There is a 1/4-inch spine cloth tear at the bottom and a partial tear in the front seam, as well as corner rubbing. The book is tightly and securely bound, but with a hinge split in the rear. The text pages are clean and bright, with no tears or foxing problems. There is a signature of the former owner on the first blank page. The front and rear endpapers consists of photographs of various California sites, eight in all. The book measures 5 11/16 by 8 3/8 inches and includes 299 pages. . Hard Cover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
