Boston; D. Lothrop and Company, 1881., 1881. Hard Cover. FIRST EDITION. Quarto, pp. 234. Frontispiece with verse plus 63 illustrations, of which 18 full-page to plates and remainder within text. Publishers' pictorial paper-covered boards in colour, with black titles to gilt panels to spine and upper board. Minor wear to edges, corners and spine tips, with small loss at head of spine and upper corners. Contents clean and tight, with gift inscription dated Christmas 1886 to ffep. A Very Good copy. A sequel to "Overhead" (an introduction to astronomy) and an introduction to science for young children featuring brave and intrepid Harry and his more retiring companion Nelly, in particularly attractive and colourful illustrated boards. A good example of colour printed boards. Scarce.
