London: Chatto and Windus, 1887. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 7.5" by 5.5". None. A first edition of this poetry collection by celebrated author Robert Louis Stevenson. This work comprises two books, the first containing thirty-eight poems in English and the second with sixteen poems in Scots.Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) was an important Scottish novelist, best known for works including 'Treasure Island', 'Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' and 'Kidnapped'. His works were extremely widely-read and acclaimed during his lifetime, and he is one of the most widely translated authors in the world. A first edition of this poetry collection. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally a trifle rubbed, with some discolouration to the front board, and chipping and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and front hinge resulting in discolouring to the cloth. Internally, generally firmly bound; front hinge is straining but remains firm. Pages are bright and clean with just the odd spot. Very Good
