Burgundy covered Hardcover boards with blindstamped medieval letter on front cover. Gilt lettering on spine. Cloth slightly frayed at bottom right corner. Some wrinkling at top of text pages. Otherwise condition is very good.
DJ has small open tears to top, bottom, and back of DJ. General edgewear and chipping, and large rubbing open tear to inside right jacket fold on bottom. Price intact.
Hardcover has long been out of print. Comprehensive color photography of the tapestries was done especially for this publication, and 44 of the color images are of details essential to the author's discussion ranfing from the dramatic figure compositions to studies of the rarer plants. The author, Margaret Freeman, was Curator Emeritas of the Cloisters in New York wher the Hunt for the Unicorn tapestries may be viewed.
