Ubag, Chicago, [1890]. 8vo (24 cm) trade catalog, decorative blue wrappers with raised gilt around trademark design. 26 pp., color 4.5" x 6.5" color lithographs, numerous b&w illus. An impressive catalog of award winning Union paper bags with descriptions of their four main models of "automatic" bags; a history of the company and its association with the 6 other leading paper bag companies; charts of capacities etc, price lists for flour sacks, sugar, millinery, shirt, banana, tobacco and ore bags. Illustrations include three photographic images of exterior and interior of the Sandy Hill, N. Y. factory on the Hudson River; one of the Watertown Mass factory, the first to be built in the United States; two images of Union Bag's exhibit at the 1893 Columbian Expedition; four brilliant chromolithographs of each automatic brand bag, namely the Tiger, the Elephant, The Zebra and the Lion; and more. CONDITION: Good, with partially perished spine, 8 cm. crease with 1 cm closed tear on lower left of front wrapper, light damp stains on front wrapper, wear at extremities, misapplied glue inside front wrapper, interior clean and fresh.
