About This Item
Goat Island: Training Station Press, 1920 Published in September, 1920 on the island. 34 printed pages with a map in the original, lightly sullied, aqua-wrappers. Titled in black and decorated in red and black. Quite scarce, in any form. Not in the LOC, only 1 copy in worldcat at the University of Virginia Library. This is essentially a history of Goat Island from the time of its purchase from the Indian Chief Sachem till 1920. The buyer was the infamous Benedict Arnold, and 2 others, for the paltry sum of 6 pounds, 10 shillings. This was 132 years before R.I. ratified the Federal Constitution.
