About This Item
1980. First edition, first printing. With front cover photo of Allen Ginsberg with hand cymbals in ecstasy. Wonderfully edited. This one of a kind issue collected the world of the Beat and beatniks. From the library of Beat poet Janine Pommy Vega with her ever close reading thus occasional top corners are folded down for favorite passages for her to refer to or share and sometimes argue with. Contributors include letters of Jack Kerouac, Herbert Huncke, an itnerview with Jan Kerouac by Gerald Nicosia, a wonderful photoggraph portfolio by Larry Keenan of San Francisco, the prose of Bonnie Bremser, the great exchange of letters between John Clellon Holmes and Allen Ginsberg, an interview with Amiri Baraka, poems by Philip Whalen and Joanna McClure. Gregory Corso is also here. It's a full house. Near fine pictorial stiff wraps
