The author "examines key incidents of lynching, kidnapping, flogging, tarring an feathering, and forced deportation" in Tampa from 1882 to 1936, concluding that "Tampa's elite orchestrated the violence against immigrants, blacks, radicals, and union organizers to enforce dominant values and conserve the prevailing distribution of power." -- dust jacket. Book is in Very Good Condition: several page corners creased; ink inderlining on one page; minor marginal notations on a few pages; otherwise, clean and tight. Dust jacket is in Very Good+ Condition: small puncture along back joint; clean and bright.
