Thomas O'Leary on front end page. <br> Thomas Michael O'Leary (Aug. 1875 â Oct. 1949) was the third Roman Catholic Bishop of Springfield in Massachusetts. In 1921, O'Leary was appointed Bishop of Springfield by Pope Benedict XV. During his tenure he opened over twenty parishes and co-founded Elms College.
