Spine unlettered, as issued. Appears to have been a gift to fellow writers on staff of the Stars and Stripes who travelled back to the states on one of the several return journeys made by the troop ship, Pretoria. Penned to the verso of the title page is a gift inscription to memebers of Squad 1 of the Stars and Stripes is singed by Jack Luckett. Above that is a longer personalized and humorous gift inscription to "Wally" recounting some less than full sober days at the Louis Bar in Paris. This is a single volume containing all the photographs of the 4 volume set, and includes the 28 page Final Report of John J. Pershing, the 3 page analysis of America's Amazing Achievement, and the color plate of the Three Decorations for American Soldiers. Final part (320 pages) has a separate title page dated 1921. No marks in book, binding tight. Covers show very light edge wear, corners bumped. Book condition VG. Profusely illustrated with sepia photographs covering all aspects in U.S. participation in World War I.
