Large (over 400pgs) book on the history of transvestism and drag in history, literature, film, photography and popular mass culutre from Shakespeare to Peter Pan. 40pgs of b&w & color photos. Laid in is a color snapshot of the actor John Cameron Mitchell in drag for his role as Hedwig. The book has a gift inscription to someone named John, and this and the photograph leads me to believe that this once belonged to him. Fine/fine.
