The photographs in this exhibition encompass and illustrate the artistic, literary and social world that G F Watts inhabited throughout his long career; a career which coincides almost exactly with the Victorian era and covers the establishment and rise of the science of photography, from its invention in the late 1830s, to the development of picture postcards at the turn of the twentieth century. The exhibition includes photographs of cultural icons such as Rossetti, Millais, Holman-Hunt, Morris; Burne-Jones, Ruskin, Alma-Tadema, Leighton,Whistler and Ellen Terry.
