About This Item

New York, NY: Alfred A. Knopf, Publisher , 2006 Alfred A. Knopf, Publisher, New York. 2006. Hardcover. Stated First Edition. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Near Fine +; slight bumping to head and tail. DJ: Near Fine; NOT Price Clipped ($25.95); slight bumping to head and tail; slight soiling to panels. Beige marbled boards with black overlay on the spine with bright silver lettering on the spine. 349 pp 8vo. In this book, the author takes pieces of her family history and weaves them into this collection of imagined fiction stories. She starts with stories that are embroiderings of her family's history, then follows them with more personal pieces, where details are freely changed, but faith is kept with a core of memoir. The 11 stories are split between historical tales inspired by the real-life events affecting Munro’s ancestors and contemporary stories inspired by events in Munro’s own life. A clean very presentable copy.
