Very Good/Very Good. 9x6x1. 1975 Pennsylvania State University Press (University Park, Pennsylvania), 9 3/4 x 13 1/4 inches tall red buckram cloth hardcover in publisher's unclipped dust jacket, gilt design to front cover, gilt lettering to spine, 110 pp. plus 56 unnumbered leaves of plates and 15 scale drawings. Slight staining, rubbing and edgewear to covers. Brief prior owner gift inscription to blank front free-endpaper. Otherwise, a very good to near fine copy - clean, bright and unmarked - in a slightly edgeworn dust jacket which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. Note that this is a heavy and oversized book, so additional postage will be required for international or priority orders. ~RCL~ [5.0P] Villa Badoer in Fratta Polesine, in the Veneto region of northern Italy, was designed in 1556 by Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio (1508-1580) for the Venetian noble Francesco Badoer, and built between 1557 and 1563 on the site of a medieval castle, which guarded a bridge across a navigable canal. This was the first time Palladio used his fully developed temple pediment in the façade of a villa. Villa Badoer has been part since 1996 of the UNESCO World Heritage Site 'City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto.'
