About This Item

London: Duckworth & Co., 1906. Leather. Very Good. 8.5" by 6". None. A charming copy of the first work by romance writer Elinor Glyn. Elinor Glyn (1864-1943) was a British novelist remembered for her romantic fiction and screenwriting works; her work was behind the concept of the 'it-girl', which was particularly influential on popular culture in the early twentieth century. This was Glyn's first work, and based upon letters written between the author and her mother. In an Arts & Crafts style binding. In a full crushed morocco binding. Externally generally smart, with some rubbing along the front joint resulting in slight loss to the leather and cracking to the joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little age-toned, but otherwise bright and clean. Very Good
