About This Item
London: Victor Gollancz, 1930. First Edition. Good+. First edition. Signed by Charles Williams, warmly inscribed to Norman Collins in the year of publication. Collins was the creator of the first BBC radio serial, Dick Barton: Special Agent, which ran from 1946 to 1951, as well as the co-creator of the ITV network, which broke the BBC's stranglehold on television in 1955. Collins got Williams a job (his old job) at the Daily News reviewing crime fiction and worked at Gollancz, publisher of this book.
288 pp. Publisher's black cloth lettered in green. A Good+ copy, spine a bit sunned, rubbed, and a bit chipped at extremities, lean to spine, offsetting to endpapers, lacking the original jacket. An excellent association between the famous British writer and member of the Inklings with a good friend at this juncture in his life.
