Oxford University Press, 1945. First Edition . Cloth. Near Fine. Six Volumes, large sturdy books, dark red textured cloth with embossed thin borders on front, an American Eagle seal and stars illustrated on fronts, gilt lettering and borders on spine, all profusely illustrated with photographs and maps, each book in set with a different purple-tinted montage of photos inside covers and adjacent end papers. Each volume numer for the year of World War II: Volume 1 has 314 pages. Top Tip creased on page 259. Light crease at spine top. Volume 2 has 318 pages, top tip creased on page 285. Light surface wear at spine top left corner. Volume 3 has 347 pages. Very light surface wear at spine bottom corners. Volume 4 has 409 pages. Very Fine. Volume 5 has 400 pages, top tips creased on pages 9, 197, 221, 233. White spots with surface rubbed at spine top left and along top back. Volume 6 has 344 pages. Very slight surface wear to tips, slight surface wear to all spine edges. Good. Overall, the set is Near Fine.
