Previous owners neat name on front blank endpaper otherwise a fine copy in original burgundy cloth with gilt illustrations and lettering to front board and spine. Front board with quadruple ruled black borders, spine ruled in gilt. In the scarce original publshers dustwrapper with colour illustration mounted onto the front panel, below black lettering and four line border. Flaps and other panels lettered in black. Original printed price (15/-) on spine has been blacked out neatly. Aside from a couple of tiny chips to the wrapper this is a beautiful fine example of this well produced edition. Scarce in this condition.:

Illustrated with decorative title page, full colour frontis, each page of the verse text within decorative borders printed in green and and 4 fine full colour plates by Brangwyn. A clean and tight copy with lovely wide margins, in a fine early half white vellum binding by Bayntun of Bath. Spine with gilt floral decoration running lengthways and brown morocco label, lettered, ruled and decorated in gilt. Marbled paper on boards and endpapers. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. A lovely copy of this beautiful book showing the softer, fantasy side of Brangwyn's work, in a fine Arts and Crafts style binding.

Macmillan and co. Ltd. London. 1904. REPRINT OF 1896 ILLUSTRATED EDITION. 8vo. (7.7 x 5.3 inches). Illustrated with 40 full page mono plates by Hugh Thomson. A clean tidy copy bound, for Truslove and Hanson in London, in early half burgundy morocco, spine with a single raised band, dotted in gilt. Compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Red cloth on boards. Top edge gilt. A small amount of wear to the extremities and some marks to the cloth boards but still overall a very good, attractive copy.

Michael Joseph. London. 1958. Reprint of the 1946 illustrated edition. Large 8vo. (9.7 x 7.2 inches). Four full page colour plates plus several mono illustrations throughout, some printed in black and some in blue, by Peter Scott. A fine and clean copy in a contemporary fine leather binding by Bayntun,of half red morocco. Spine with two raised bands, ruled in blind. Gilt lettering and twin goose designs, all in gilt. Red cloth on boards/ Mottled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Neat previous owner two line inscription, dated 1960, on the front blank free endpaper. A fine and attractive copy of this classic work.

C. Bathurst, W. Strahan, J and F. Rivington.... London. 1770. NINE VOLUMES. 8vo. Illustrated with 24 copper engravings. Very good bright set bound in contemporary full tan calf, spines ruled in gilt. Each volume with red morocco title label, decorated and lettered in gilt. Some rubbing and chipping to most volumes and a few hinges cracked but all still holding. Overall an attractive set of eighteenth century bindings. Previous owners bookplate on front paste downs.

Published at The Hampshire House Workshops, Hampshire Hog Lane, Hammersmith, London. 1915. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (7.5 x 5.2 inches). Illustrated with 12 wood engravings. One of 1500 copies. Inscribed by Gill on the front free endpaper "Eric Gill for H. Davis, 22.3.28" A very good copy in original grey canvas spine, lettered in black, with red paper covered boards with black lettering and illustration to the front board. Some loss to the paper on the boards, affecting 7 letters of the address at the bottom. Spine with just a little darkening. Overall a very good copy. Uncommon inscribed by Gill. --Evan Gill. Decorative flower and leaf designs to both boards, within a wavy line border which is surrounded by multiple stars, within a ruled line border, all in gilt. Elaborate gilt tooled stars, flowers and decorative roll borders to the inner boards with off-white moire silk endpapers. All edges gilt. Previous owners neat inscription, dated 1914, to the front blank free endpaper.
