Description: Dust jacket art by Morgan Stinemetz. The Grosset and Dunlap reprints of Terhune's dog stories were issued in two different formats. This listing is for a book from the earlier issue which was done in cloth with the head of a collie blind stamped on the front cover. The endpapers feature two dogs on the left hand page with a stream or road separating them from a single 'windswept' collie on the right hand side. The later issue featured dust jacket art by noted wildlife artist Bob Kuhn with the endpaper scene reproduced (in black and white) from one his paintings. Those bindings were either solid color cloth or 'tweed' with a vignette of two collies running. . Note that the only printed date is the 1932 copyright; this circa early 1940s; both the jacket flap and the title page have wartime compliance statements. ''Gray Dawn, one of the famous Sunnybank collies, and other splendid dogs romp through these inspiring stories.'' This is the sixteenth book in the Sunnybank series.
